Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A young man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested in Garden Reach, Kolkata, for allegedly trying to acquire a passport using a fake birth certificate. The arrest was made by the Security Control Organization branch of the Kolkata Police after initial verification raised suspicions about the authenticity of the submitted certificate.
The accused has been identified as Ehsahan Khan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh who had been living in the Garden Reach area. Police sources say Ehsahan applied for a passport from the Gosaba area, but discrepancies in his birth documents alerted the authorities. Upon further scrutiny, it was found that the birth certificate was forged, leading to his immediate arrest.
Meanwhile, the case has unraveled deeper layers of passport-related criminal activity in the region. Investigators have also uncovered startling revelations about Azad Mallick, an accused previously arrested in a separate passport fraud case. Azad, whose real identity is Azad Hossain, is a Pakistani national who reportedly entered India via Bangladesh in 2013.
